Local Telecommunications: Taxes and Fees in New York State

The New York State Fiscal Year 1999-00 budget agreement mandated a study of local telecommunications taxes to be conducted by the Department of Taxation and Finance and the Office of Real Property Services. The purpose of the report is to examine the various sources of local taxes and fees levied on telecommunications companies, including cable television companies, and on consumers of telecommunications services.
