Thank you for bearing with us during this challenging time. If you missed last night’s announcement about how to reach ORPTS during the coronavirus health crisis, please see below.
Reminder: Review your 2020 preliminary taxable state land lists by April 10
Preliminary lists of 2020 taxable state land are now available in the Online Assessment Community for affected municipalities. By April 10, please review all posted documents and follow the instructions to complete the lists.
Due to limited in-office coverage, please:
- certify the values online,
- email scanned lists to ORPTS.StateLandUnit@tax.ny.gov, orfax scanned lists to 518-435-8629
For more information about the preliminary lists, select the Help button on any screen in the application. If you have questions after reviewing the instructions and your list, email our State Land Unit ORPTS.StateLandUnit@tax.ny.gov.
Local options to extend the deadline for 467 applications
The RPTL includes three options to extend the application deadline for the senior citizens exemption. For the details, see Assisting seniors who missed the exemption application deadline.
How to contact ORPTS
In light of the coronavirus health crisis, our Assessor/Director Hotline will not be available until further notice. The best way to reach ORPTS during this time is through the Regional Customer Service Team for your county. We ask you that you email the team’s email list rather than your individual liaison at this time. You can do this by:
- visiting ORPTS community service teams, and
- clicking on the name of your county.
A new email should open in your email program, and it should be pre-addressed to the team for your county.
If that method doesn’t work, send an email to ORPTS.RSD._______@tax.ny.gov where _______ is the name of your county. (For instance, ORPTS.RSD.Broome@tax.ny.gov)
Thank you for your patience as we work through this challenging time. We will continue to keep you up-to-date regularly.
