RPSV4 and Windows 11

Microsoft is in the process of deploying Windows 11 to individual computers. We’ve received some questions as to whether it’s compatible with RPSV4. We have tested RPSV4 on machines running Windows 11, and we have not encountered any issues.

As always, if you encounter an issue with RPSV4, contact your ORPTS customer service team.

Reminder: Transmit your roll and post it online

You have ten days from the publication of the tentative roll to complete the following, both of which are required by RPTL 1590:

  • Transmit your tentative roll to ORPTS. Use the new Upload Files application in the Online Assessment Community (instructions).
  • Post the roll online and provide a link from your municipality’s homepage. If your city or town doesn’t have a website, you must arrange to have it posted on the county’s website.

FYI: Check your assessment reminder to homeowners

Last week, we sent a Check Your Assessment email blast to more than 48,000 individuals who subscribe to our Tax Tips for Property Owners and Tax Tips for Individuals email lists. View the email.

If you receive our newsletter, you’re already subscribed to our private email list for assessors and county directors. However, you’re welcome to subscribe to an array of other public Tax Department email lists. Visit our Email updates webpage to get started. Just enter your email address and select Submit. On the following page, you can choose from dozens of email lists.

And while you’re at it, you’re welcome to add this link and language to your municipal website: "Subscribe to the Tax Department’s email list, Tax Tips for Property Owners, for updates and timely reminders."
