Basic STAR Exemption Removal Files
Contact us if you have not received your Basic STAR Exemption Removal File
Today we emailed Basic STAR Exemption Removal Files to assessors and to county directors who process exemptions. Please use the files to remove the listed exemptions from your final roll.
Note: There is a list below of 16 municipalities for which there were no removals; those municipalities were not sent a removal list.
The exemptions are being removed because the owners of the properties on the file did not respond to two letters from us explaining the need to register or to a final denial letter dated April 25. They do not have a registration on file with our department; therefore, they are no longer eligible for a STAR exemption.
For municipalities that have ten or more removals, we included a bulk transaction file and instructions to process the file in RPSV4.
If you did not receive an email with the subject line Basic STAR Exemption Removal File Enclosed—and your municipality is not on the list below—please contact assessor.report.feedback@tax.ny.gov.
Note: This file is a one-time addition to the standard STAR reports; it will not be made available in the Online Assessment Community.
Additional STAR reports coming soon
In addition to the one-time Basic STAR Exemption Removal File discussed above, in the upcoming days we’ll notify you when we publish the following annual STAR reports:
