Coming soon: Final Roll Corrections Report (Report #7)
Watch your email in the upcoming days.
STAR Credit Direct Deposit
The Tax Department is encouraging homeowners receiving the STAR credit to enroll in STAR Credit Direct Deposit. The department has recently issued press releases in counties with school districts that have early school tax billing dates. You can see examples on our press release webpage. We will continue issuing similar press releases where school tax bills have not yet been issued.
If you are contacted by a homeowner regarding STAR Credit Direct Deposit or other aspects of the STAR credit, direct them to our representatives at 518-457-2036.
STAR letters update
We’re mailing two letters to impacted STAR recipients this week:
RP-5310-DLI: Recipients of this letter are registered for the STAR credit and had 2022 income over $500,000. They are not eligible for the STAR credit this year. We will continue to review our records to determine their eligibility in future years. Recipients of this letter do not need to do anything unless they disagree with our income determination. See the text of the letter.
RP-5310-DLPR: Recipients of this letter are registered for the STAR credit, but we are unable to confirm the property is the primary residence of any of the owners. Therefore, they are not eligible for the STAR credit at this property. Recipients of this letter do not need to do anything unless they disagree with our determination. See the text of the letter.
If you’re contacted by a homeowner about either letter, direct them to the instructions and telephone number on the letter (518-457-2036).

Final Reminder: Deadline to request utility advisory appraisals
If you’re conducting a reassessment and you would like to request a utility advisory appraisal, the deadline to submit Form RP-7021, Utility Advisory Appraisal Request is 270 days prior to your tentative roll date (by August 1 for localities using the standard assessment calendar). Please also notify your county customer support team as soon as possible. We cannot deliver advisory appraisals without Form RP-7021 on file for the current year, and your county team must be aware of the reassessment.
