IVP Tool now available for 2025
Thank you for your patience while we prepared the tool for 2025 exemptions. It is now available for use by most municipalities in the Online Assessment Community.
Municipalities in Suffolk County: Due to your December school tax billing dates, the IVP tool is not yet available for 2025. Keep an eye on your emails, we will let you know when it is available for your use.

Reminder: Sign up for fall, winter, and spring ORPTS Classes
We’ve updated the ORPTS training schedule through spring 2025. Classes fill up quickly, so don’t delay.
New this year:
- We will administer all exams virtually via WebEx, except for in-person classes.
- Coming soon: We will hold Introduction to Farm Appraisal in-person in the spring. We’ll notify you when the class is scheduled and registration is available.
Have questions or need an accommodation to attend one of our classes? Email orpts.edservices@tax.ny.gov.
To register for classes: Visit the ORPTS training schedule and select Register for Courses. You cannot register for classes in the Online Assessment Community.
When the time arrives for your class: Access the training portal using the Training Portal Log In link on the Online Assessment Community webpage. If you need assistance logging in, see our troubleshooting tips.
Note: If you are not currently enrolled in any classes, you will not see anything listed when logging into the portal.
Deadline approaching to review your sales reports
The deadline to transmit sales corrections is Friday, August 30. Your timely review is very important because we’ll use the sales data to begin the process of calculating 2025 equalization rates and RARs. Visit the Online Assessment Community to review your sales reports.
For more information, see Sales usability criteria.
On the arms-length report, there is a column which indicates whether the sale is COD/RAR usable. If you find a mistake or need to correct a sale, follow these instructions:
- RPS users: within your RPS file, make the correction and then re-transmit it by going to Standard Reports > Sales > Sales Transmittal Report. Please email the RPS035 to ORPTS.saleint@tax.ny.gov. The ORPTS sales database and online sales reports will be updated with the corrections.
- If you submit paper reports, use Form RP-5217 ACR, Sale Correction Form. Email the completed forms to ORPTS.saleint@tax.ny.gov or mail them to:
