2025 Agricultural Assessment Values now available online

The 2025 Agricultural Assessment Values per Acre are now available from Agricultural assessment information. You’ll also find eligibility decision charts and our recent webinar on agricultural assessments at that link.

We are working to add the 2025 values to RPSV4, and we will make an announcement when they are available.

Small claims assessment review (SCAR) and tax certiorari webpages updated through 2023

We recently updated the county-by-county totals of tax certiorari and SCAR cases with data provided to us by The New York State Office of Court Administration.

Reminder: The draft 2025 solar and wind appraisal model is available for public comment

On Friday, January 10, we published a draft 2025 Solar and Wind Appraisal Model for public comment. The draft model is available at Appraisal methodology for solar and wind energy projects along with a user guide.

We will accept comments on the draft 2025 model through March 11, 2025. You can email comments to renewables.model.comments@tax.ny.gov. After we review and consider all timely comments, we will publish a final model for 2025 assessment rolls. If you wish to comment, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.

Summary of changes to draft 2025 model:

  • We updated the revenue forecasts, expense forecasts, and discount rates.
  • We revised the wind capacity factors to reflect technology improvements over time.

Ethics recertification reminder

With the October 1, 2025 reappointment date less than a year away, it’s not too early to plan for your required ethics recertification. Re-appointed and re-elected assessors and county directors must take approved ethics training no more than one year prior to or one year after reappointment or reelection to office. New assessors and new county directors must take an approved ethics course within a year of taking office.

For approved courses and more information, see our Ethics component webpage.
