02/18/2025 Assessment Community Weekly

County directors: We look forward to meeting with you at your upcoming conference in Albany on February 24!

Final reminder: Consider submitting your LOA for early determination

If you believe you qualify and your tentative roll date is May 1, please plan to submit your 2025 LOA to your ORPTS customer service team by this Friday, February 21.

If your stated LOA is within 5% of both your major type A (residential) ratio and your overall ratio, you should consider submitting your LOA early so it can potentially be issued as the RAR.

The new appointment cycle will be here before you know it!

October 1 is just over seven months away. Please use this form to report your appointment or reappointment information to ORPTS as soon as you have it. A few reminders:

  • All assessors and county directors must meet qualifications before they can be appointed.
  • Sole appointed assessor and county real property tax director appointments are for six years.
  • The term of office will be from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2031.
