How to Register
To enroll for a classroom course, online training or self-study session sponsored by ORPTS, complete the registration form on our website under Online Registration or mail/fax a completed form to our office in Albany. Registration can also be done through the online training system. The online training system can be accessed through the Assessment Community page on the ORPTS website.
We strongly recommend that you register at least six (6) weeks prior to the date of the course. Space is limited in these courses, so be sure to register early. Priority will be given to Assessors and County Directors who need the course for basic certification. Online courses fill up quickly so do not delay in registering!
A confirmation message will be sent to you via email prior to the beginning of all courses, including classroom, online and self-study offerings. If you have not received a confirmation from us two (2) weeks prior to the course, please contact Educational Services at (518) 474-1764.
When there is insufficient enrollment, classes are cancelled by ORPTS. We will send an email to students advising them of this approximately 4-6 weeks prior to class.
A Fee Schedule for the cost of materials is in effect for assessor staff, county real property tax services staff, candidates for assessor and employees of other NYS agencies. This fee schedule applies to ORPTS sponsored classroom training and the ORPTS Self-Study Program. The persons on the chart below must enclose the appropriate payment when enrolling in a course or exam.

Note: If the $50 fee applies, you will be billed at the time you are accepted into a particular class.
